John Sturman

John Sturman

John has been teaching a computer science project-based course part-time at RPI for the last 19 years.  During that time he has also worked as a technical writer, a director of technology for a school district, technologist and IT manager for a manufacturing company and other IT-related positions.

John joined Albany Can Code because of his passion for teaching and sharing the magic of technology.  This job feels like a dream come true being able to teach on a full time basis.  He is looking forward to working with the team to grow Albany Can Code to reach more people and make a bigger impact in the tech sector.

John is an avid skier and works as an instructor at Windham Mountain as well as lead ukulele jams and open mic evenings.  He lives on an old farm in the Northern Catskills of Greene County where he keeps bees and produces the best honey in the world.
